THE STORY

After several traumatic experiences in avalanches, French professional snowboarder Victor Daviet realized that freeriders were generally not prepared enough to face avalanche situations. That's why, with the aim of giving everyone the opportunity to learn about mountain risk management and avalanche rescue, he created the Safety Shred Days in 2018.

THE CONCEPT

The Safety Shred Days are the early season gathering for freeriders or future freeriders of all levels and all ages!

We offer risk management and avalanche rescue training in a friendly atmosphere, at affordable prices and adapted to all levels of practice and knowledge. Each event takes place over a weekend that mixes practical training, theoretical presentations, riding and other activities and parties around snowboarding and freeride skiing.

For each edition, the organization takes place in two parts:
  • A day of avalanche rescue training with practical workshops on snow and a conference to address the theoretical part
  • A day of friendly riding on a Banked Slalom course specially designed for the event and accessible to all levels

OUR GOAL

Our main objective is to contribute to the diminution of the number of accidents in the mountains during the off-piste skiing and snowboarding practice. To achieve this, we want to democratize avalanche rescue training and freeride accident prevention among riders of all ages and horizons by offering training in the form of friendly gatherings at affordable prices and in different resorts and countries in Europe.
