The Safety Shred Days are coming back to the Pyrenees for two days of avalanche rescue training and mountain activities focused on snowboarding and freeride skiing - open to everyone, in collaboration with Mathieu Crépel !
Join us on December 21–22, 2025, at the Grand Tourmalet ski area to learn, share, and have fun!

Depending on your needs and availability, you can come for the day or stay for the whole weekend! We’ll be ready to welcome you as early as Friday evening for the free welcome party/Movie Night!
A welcome evening featuring screenings of the latest riding films, with the riders themselves in attendance, open to everyone and free of charge.
A full day of training in mountain risk management and avalanche rescue experienced participants. You will learn how to use an avalanche transceiver, probing and shoveling techniques, first aid, as well as the basics of snow science and mountaineering (Level 1 - Novice). Immersive and technical scenarios will be offered (Level 2 - Intermediate), while the most experienced participants will head out with our guides to analyze the terrain and handle real-life situations (Level 3 - Expert).
Please note : the day starts at 8:30. Please note the training will be mostly IN FRENCH, especially the conference.
TRAINING LEVELS (to be specified upon registration):
Level 1 – Novice:: Novice You have never taken part in a training session or your last one was over 5 years ago, and you wish to (re)learn the fundamentals before heading off-piste. Training content: Beacon handling / Transceiver search / Probing / Shoveling / Casualty management / Multi-victim scenarios / Snow science / Recco system
Level 2– Intermediate You have already completed the Novice training with us or another course within the past 5 years and wish to strengthen your avalanche rescue knowledge and skills. Training content: Complex avalanche scenarios (real conditions, multiple burials, victim management, situation analysis, etc.)
Level 3– Expert: For those who have completed Intermediate training and wish to deepen their knowledge through field-based training focused on analysis and decision-making in freeride contexts Daily Avalanche Bulletin (BERA) analysis / Snowpack and terrain observation / Line choice according to group-skill-terrain / Descent behavior / Communication / Off-piste runs with guide to discuss and practice real risk management situations.

A full day of riding alongside certified guides to explore the Grand Tourmalet and/or the Pic du Midi areand to improve your skills in the workshop of your choice: ski touring, splitboard, freeride… A great opportunity to apply what you learned the previous day while (re)discovering the freeride potential of the domain, all in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere!
A unique chance to deepen your off-piste and/or ski touring/splitboarding skills while practicing risk management in a safe, guided environment. Take this opportunity to explore the freeride/backcountry area, improve your technique , or try a new discipline — safely, with professional guidance, and at an affordable price., all in the safety of a professional-guided setting and at an accessible rate.

A unique day of riding for everyone, with the Banked Slalom : join (or cheer on your friends in) a fun race on a specially designed course with banked turns and natural obstacles, accessible to all skill levels. We’ll wrap up the weekend together with a hearty lunch and plenty of entertainment!

You’ll learn how to use an avalanche transceiver, probing and shoveling techniques, basic first aid, as well as foundational skills in snow science and mountaineering (Level 1 - novice). Immersive and technical scenarios will be provided for intermediate participants (Level 2), while advanced learners will work with our guides to analyze the terrain and handle real-life situations (Level 3 - expert).

Note: The day starts at 08:30 AM on Saturday, with a movie night on Friday evening. Please note the training on Saturday will be mostly IN FRENCH, especially the conference. Saturday evening : SSD party, in a bar in the resort !
Beginner level : You never took part in a training session or your last one is from more than 5 years ago, and you'd like to go over the basics again in order to acquire a good base prior to leaving the slopes.
Training content : Handling of the beacon / research with beacon / Probing / Shovelling / Victim's first aid / Scenarios with multiple victims / Nivology / Recco system / airbag use

Training content : Complex avalanche scenarios (real conditions, multi victims, analysis of situations ... )
